EMMA Eurofinals 2008 in Wels
The 2008 EMMA Eurofinals will be held from October 24 - 26 during the "PS Show Wels". It is one of the biggest events in Austria around cars, tuning and sound. The location is Wels, a City in Upper Austria around 200 km west from Vienna and 250 km East from Muenchen.
Wels, has about 58.000 inhabitants, and it should be easy to find accommodations.
Traveling to Wels by car
For usage of Austrian Motorways ("A numbers") and Freeways ("S Numbers) you have to pay tollage. Austrian car tollage is paid by buying a sticker (germ. "Vignette") and it has to be sticked on the windscreen. The tollage for 10 days is EUR 7,70. Buy this "Vignette" immediately when you enter Austria directly at the border. If you get caught on an A or S without it, the penalty will be at least EUR 120,00.
Wels is junction point for some Motorways. Wels can be reached from West on the A8/E56/E552 from the South A9/E57 from the East A1/E60 A25/E552. The fair ground is signed out on the motorways as "Messegelände" (=german for fair ground).
By the way, driving with daylight is not necessary any more, but take care of Austrians 0,5%o limit ;-)

PS Show Wels
The "PS Show Wels" itself is a tuning show. It was used 2006 also for the Austrian SQ Finals (see Pictures) and 2007 EMMA Austria did the ESPL Finals in Wels. Last year 35.000 visitors came to the show on 25.000m2. This year the organizer will open two more halls and also introduces new cars, offroad and motorcycling.
AC Power Supply
In Austria we are using this classical Schuko CEE 7/4 Sockets & Plugs for
AC power supply with approx 220-240 V. If you connect a modern CEE 7/7 hybrid
Schuko/French plug, your charger should work pretty fine. If you are
from Denmark, Great Britain, Cypres, Ireland, Italy or Switzerland you
should care about an adapter ...
